We dedicate our lives to saving as Many Precious Souls as POSSIBLE.
What We Do
The Bahamas is home to thousands of sick, starving, and abused dogs. The voiceless souls roam the streets searching for food and water, never knowing when they will eat again. They often shy away from people, expecting to be abused because they endure so much of it regularly.
Pawtcafe Refuge is a haven for these wonderful dogs and gives them a chance to begin healing from the atrocities they’ve lived. We constantly search for dogs in need and responds to calls and messages about dogs requiring help. Our President and Founder, Chella, drives around Nassau every day to feed the homeless dogs. Dogs eventually get taken off the streets after she's earned their trust to touch them. Once the dogs are in our care, they get fully vetted, vaccinated, and live at Pawtcake refuge until medically cleared to travel to a partner rescue in the States.
Countless homeless dogs have left the streets of Nassau and are now enjoying life loved and cared for by their families. In the last four years, Pawtcake Refuge has rescued more than 5,000 dogs. Our mission continues to save as many as we can dogs and be the voice for the voiceless dogs of Nassau, Bahamas.
